Membership Categories
Once you reach the payment step, be sure to select CHPBA as the desired chapter, you can also choose to join the following societies without any additional application: Canadian Association of General Surgeons, Canadian Hernia Society, Canadian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and/or Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology.
Active Full Member
Specialists in the field of hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery legally licensed to practice surgery in Canada or the United States.
Annual fee: $250
Fellowship Trainee
Surgeons who are enrolled in a postgraduate training program in the field of HPB, surgical oncology or transplantation.
No annual fee
Resident Member
Full-time residents enrolled in a general surgery residency training program in Canada or the United States.
No annual fee
International Affiliate
A category available to surgeons or surgical trainees residing abroad who wish to join the society for educational opportunities.
Annual fee $25 CAD
Honorary Member
A designation awarded at the discretion of the Board of Directors to member or non-member HPB surgeons who have made a notable contribution to the specialty.
Retired Member
A designation awarded to members in good standing who have been a CHPBA member for at least 5 years and have retired from practice.
